Fintastic Fish Room

Today we played "Where is _____?" And we had to use the sentence "I think _____ is under the (blue, red, yellow, green) cup".  We also read " This is The Way We Go To School " and charted how we go to school. Some of us ride the bus, some of us come in an SUV and some of us came in a van. We practiced asking each other this question as well as listening to one another responses. We then tallied up the amounts. ME BAGS: It was fun seeing what items our friends like. We all took turns asking questions and looking at all the items our fish friends brought from home.  "What is Missing?" was a great game we used our Me Bag items for. We had to close our eyes and look to see what item was missing when we closed our eyes.  Play dough, painting, sand/letters, and cars were at today's centers!  Don't worry, it's not real ;) Have a wonderful evening!  

At circle, we sang, danced and practiced our rules song.  We also discussed "good vs. bad" choices to support our classroom rules and routines.   "Eyes are watching, ears are listening, voices quiet, bodies calm, this is how we listen, this is how we listen, at circle time, at circle time." We also made our own fish bowls by telling the color, size and location of the fish we wanted (ex. I want the big blue fish in the middle of the fish blow, I want the small yellow fish at the bottom of the fish bowl).  We danced and did mat man then made our self portrait.  In music, we sang danced and learned our eagle friends' names!  We read the " The Kissing Hand " and talked about how we felt on the first day of school.  Oh no!  We have been having a lot of fun!  The music room is so much fun! We sang, danced and played instruments on our scavenger hunt around the school!  We went around the school to find different rooms and spaces we will be going in: Big Playground, cafeteria, music room, office, nurse's office, art room, gym, Big Room, etc. " The Night Before Pre-School " was a good book introducing us to what we will do and learn in school. We practiced pronouns: he, she, they "Fish room, fish room who do you see?" We practiced learning each other's names. Coloring and puzzles are fun!  We made bubbles, ask me how we made them! It was fun discovering new colors. We had to predict what new colors would come from mixing colors! We practiced using sequencing words to describe the process.
