F is for friendship. This week we introduced the theme "Friends". We discussed how we can ask to play with friends, how we can check on our friends if they're sad, mad, or hurt, and talked about being a good friend. " Can I Play Too ?" was a good book that helped us learn how we can play with others.  .  The question of the day was "What is your favorite center?" Painting, blocks, cars and baby dolls were some of our favorites! We are trying to learn a little bit about ourselves to prepare for when the Eagle friends come to play during centers. We brainstormed how we can be good friends: examples are: sharing toys, helping clean up, checking on a hurt friend, and using nice words. What a great first week of school we had! Learning about the classroom, our friends, the rules/expectations, and what we each like was very exciting.  JOURNALS: Mystery box: each week we will draw in our journals. This week we drew what we thought was in the mystery box. We will practice drawing something related to a topic, tell about our drawing, and attempt to write the letters of sounds in words we hear. Marbles, a light, cars, and a ghost were our predictions. What was it?  It was chalk! We used the chalk to decorate our journals.  Legos are awesome! we built cars, a house, and a tower! On Fridays, we sing the Friday song with egg shakers and do the calendar. We talk about the days of the week, the month, and any special days that are in that month.  This afternoon we built with blocks, found letters in blue sand, and read " Chicka Chicka Boom Boom ".
