Continuing Family/Baby and Introduction to House

This morning we discussed what our houses looked like. We asked each other "What color is your house?" and charted how many friends have different houses. We also looked at furniture and other items in different rooms in our houses.

JOURNALS:
Each of us drew our house in our journal. This is more then drawing a house, we discussed if we had a one story house(ranch), 2 story house, if the house has a garage, bricks, trees by it, what the windows look like, etc.

COLOR MATCHING GAME: We used paint swatches to play a memory game. Students learned new names for colors and talked about light and dark colors.

Water beads and floor puzzles with the Eagles.

Today we read "The Three Bears."  We compared and contrasted this book to Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  We also did a book walk with the book "The Napping House".

Sliding into the week!

"H" is our letter this week. We talked about making an H with big lines and a little line which is part of our Handwriting Without Tears curriculum.

"What doesn't belong?" was our game this afternoon.

Magna tiles are always fun!

Second steps: We are practicing how to welcome a new friend to school, how to introduce ourselves, and learning the "Learn to Listen" rules at school. We role played with our puppets Jack and Julia.

We practiced tracing and writing our names and shapes. We also played a matching shape game.

SHAPE HOUSES: We practiced using language of double adjectives to make shape houses. Fish friends had to say, " I want the big yellow rectangle for the garage." or "Can I have the little pink semicircle for the window."

We love the eagles!

New balls came for the ramps!

Hide n seek was a fun game!

Happy faces on the letter H.
