Fire and Fire Safety; introducing Apples

Fire, fire, fire, help! Each friend took turns calling 9-1-1 and and saying where the fire was in their home.

The firefighter came and used a hose with water to put the fire out.

"Fire! Fire!" was a good book that helped us understand what firefighters do and the tools they use.

Playdough!

We practice calling 9-1-1, discussing what we do if fire gets on us (STOP DROP AND ROLL) and who we call, and also writing our letters of our name on flames and putting them in order.

SECOND STEPS: Self talk; today we discussed how we need to focus when a teacher says what we need to do. We discussed how we can sing a song or repeat to ourselves what we need to be doing.

Henry made the letter "T" out of chains.

Gym and center time fun with the Eagles,  and playground time!

WACKY WEDNESDAY-what is wrong with the picture? Can you find the hidden items? These two games we played on Wacky Wednesday.

CUSTODIAN DAY ART!

C words: What words begin with /c/?

Dan McLaughlin visited the Fish Class!  GO Cards!

Lego time!! We each built a lego structure. Ask me what I built

"Where is the fire?" We had to describe where the fire was. EX: The fire is behind the front door.

Touring the school and finding the fire items was fun! We found 5 fire extinguishers, 4 exit signs, and 3 fire hydrants.

MONDAY:

This week we introduced "APPLES"!
JOURNALS:
We drew what we like to eat or bake with apples.

Big room fun!

"Apple Trouble
We played with chains, sang "Way Up High In the Apple Tree" and made a web chart about what we know about apples.

"Picking Apples and Pumpkins" book: We introduced where we pick apples, how to visit an apple orchard, and discussed some things we do with apples and pumpkins,

Finger painting apples in our baskets to the correct numbers. 6=6 apples in the basket. This practiced one-to-one correspondence and number recognition.
