Fire truck visit and apple picking

 Today we learned about the letter G, opened and introduced our apple orchard and also enjoyed a visit from the Creve Couer Fire dept. We played and ran with our eagle friends in the gym.






We introduced how to play apple orchard. We talked about the steps:
1. get a basket
2. ride the tractor/wagon to the apple orchard
3. pick your red, green, and yellow apples,
4. ride the wagon back to the checkout
5. Pay for your apples/checkout

We took turns being the: customer, tractor driver/farmer, and the checkout farmer

SECOND STEPS: We started talking about Following Directions.  Julia and Jack were teaching each other how to use a song for self talk and following directions.

 This week we introduced the theme "Transportation". We LOVE all  vehicles, what fun we've had! This may be our favorite theme yet!! Question of the day-"How did you get to school today?" (car, bus, SUV, bike, van, etc) Brainstorming ideas about transportation. What do the fish friends know (especially about vehicles on the road)  " ABC Drive " showed us lot of diverse vehicles and signs on the road: stop sign, dump trucks, do not enter, yield, etc Journals: What kind of car do you have at home?  Matching the correct number of blocks to the number on the truck.  Ramp designs, counting, color by number, sorting and patterning were some of the fun activities we completed. We sorted which vehicles drive on land, fly in the sky, or drive on the water. Farm week

Hello,  This week we started learning about the Farm and farm animals. We brainstormed what animals live on the farm, what they eat, who takes care of the farm and the animals. We also discussed what animals give us -eggs, milk, wool, etc.  Farm matching, fill in the blank numbers, and patterns.  Recess fun "N" is our letter this week. Centers with Puppies: Big Room with Eagles Playing the game "Go Fish"  Making chicks with paper plates, glue, yellow paint, feathers and tissue paper.  Journals: what animal would you be at the farm? Tinker Toys and Chains We looked at the farm and what animals live there.  Today we sorted through the animals, discussed what baby animals are called and grouped animals together.  Second Steps: Managing Anger Gym Time with Eagles  .  We are reading "The Little Red Hen" this week.
