Pumpkins weekly summary
This week we introduced pumpkins. Fish friends cut out numbers 1-5 and glued them by the correct number of pumpkins, circled which picture was different then the others, and slowly traced lines from the boy to the pumpkin.
"5 Little Pumpkins sitting on a gate" was a video with rhyming words and feelings.
PUMPKIN CARVING:
We brainstormed parts of a pumpkin, what shapes we should carve in the pumpkin for the face and brainstormed words to describe the pumpkin: hard, soft, slimy, squishy, gooey, bumpy, etc. We also created a past tense book talking about what we did to carve the pumpkin.
"Big Pumpkin" was fun to act out!
"P" is our letter this week so we practiced tracing it.
It was so fun mixing shaving cream and paint to make orange pumpkins!
In the Eagle class, we made bat bracelets, played in a bat cave, made noodle soup!
The light table is always a hit!
We practiced putting our names in order with pumpkins.
Recess
"Spookley the Square Pumpkin" book and craft: We read the book and practiced answering a variety of questions about the pumpkin such as what shape he was, how he saved the other pumpkins, what the problem was, etc. We then followed directions and sequenced how to make a Spookley square pumpkin.

MUSIC:
The instruments we used in music to sing and dance to "5 Little Pumpkins" was awesome! We each also got to bang the drum.
