Food and Grocery Week

Food is our theme this week. We introduced different types of food, healthy food vs. junk food(unhealthy food) and discussed the grocery store. We brainstormed what we get at the grocery store, how we pay, what we push at the store and how we need to make a list of items we need from the grocery store.

We patterned fruits in ABAB AABB and ABBA patterns.  

JOURNALS: 

We drew our favorite foods to buy at the grocery store.

This video showed us how we shop at the grocery store. We are working on sequencing with using first, next, then, and last.

GROCERY STORE: We practiced playing grocery store. We assigned roles of the shopper, checker, and bagger. We talked about

1st we make  a list

then we get a cart or basket

next we put groceries in our cart 

last we had to check out. 

We practiced the sequence and language of grocery store and had to negotiate who was the shopper, checker and bagger.

We reviewed the letter S by making snakes. We brainstormed words that begin with /s/. We even SSSStamped SSSSpots on our SSSnakes.
