Doctor week-Thursday and Friday

          February 2nd: Groundhog Day! We talked about this tradition and what happened this year in 2023!                                            








We talked about personal space and did a lesson about what this means. We talked about staying in our own bubbles and how sometimes it makes people feel uncomfortable to get too close to them. We worked on the words and actions we could say and do when this happens.

We talked about shadows!  The groundhog saw his shadow sooooo 6 more weeks of winter. However we saw our shadows yesterday too because it was a sunny day!


Its February! We practiced the days of the week and talked about the events happening in February.


Show and Tell!



Art class: We celebrated the Chinese new year with red lanterns and fans.






Itchy Itchy Chicken Pox: We reviewed some vocabulary about this story and talked about when you get a rash what you should do.


Music class: Chinese dragon dance, streamers, dragon dance, and a review of some winter songs        







Teddy bear parade with the Puppies, Otters, and Penguins. We saw all of their boxes and teddy bears and listened to "I'm a Gummy Bear!"

 Today we enjoyed building with legos, show-n-tell, practicing our jokes,  and art with the Eagles. We are excited for our Halloween celebration Monday! *Please send costumes in their bag with 14 treats to hand out.  It's Friday! Wednesday - more school fun

At circle, we sang, danced and practiced our rules song.  We also discussed "good vs. bad" choices to support our classroom rules and routines.   "Eyes are watching, ears are listening, voices quiet, bodies calm, this is how we listen, this is how we listen, at circle time, at circle time." We also made our own fish bowls by telling the color, size and location of the fish we wanted (ex. I want the big blue fish in the middle of the fish blow, I want the small yellow fish at the bottom of the fish bowl).  We danced and did mat man then made our self portrait.  In music, we sang danced and learned our eagle friends' names!  We read the " The Kissing Hand " and talked about how we felt on the first day of school.  Oh no! Environmental Print Bingo : learning the signs we see around our community "N" is for Nighttime Building fences for our farm animals and doing a farm puzzle with the puppy class.   We matched animals to their homes, wrote "Farm" with farm pictures, and did a preposition activity.
