Pet Shop

 This week the Fish Room Pet Shop opened. We discussed what a pet is, how to take care of a pet, what pets needs and how to make sure they are taken care of. We also talked about what pets like to do or play.  Fire drills are easy for us!  " The Pet Shop " was a great book to introduce pets and what pet stores have.  Pet Coloring Pages.  Cutting shapes and making a shape collage and playing play dough were great practice.    Big Room Fun  PET SHOP PLAY! We acted out a pet shop experience to allow the fish friends to understand the sequence and language of how to play pet shop. There were the roles of sales person and customers.  " Harry the Dirty Dog ." We talked about the characters, the problem, and what happens at the end.  This story has a significant theory of mind piece. The students were expected to understand that Harry runs away, goes and explores the city, gets dirty, and comes home to his family not recognizing him from a whit...

Whose tower was taller? We practiced using -er and -est words to compare block towers. H is our letter this week. We practiced listening to the letter /h/ sound and putting Happy face stickers on the letter H. " The Napping House " - we practiced out sequencing skills by using this book. Smile, be silly!  Magnatiles, peace signs and water beads!  2 is our number this week.  "Where does it belong?" We sorted furniture into the correct room of the house. Spinner and balls and ramps fun!  FRIDAY: Baby Jace came to LECC fish room today!  We talked about all of the things a baby does: cries, rolls, crawls, drinks, feeds, spits up, etc. We also looked at the baby items and reviewed vocabulary.  We also had the opportunity to work on future tense (will) and past tense (-ed ) using the verbs. The fish friends were very gentle with baby Jace!  Have a wonderful weekend!
